When subject to analysis, Jolma is consistently producing exception results. With Jolma rams currently topping the current and future sires indices, it is not surprising that the stud as a whole has a Carcase Plus index average and a 60:20:20 index average that is consistently well above average for the breed in Australia.

The Jaspers are proud of the fact that they have been involved in objectively measuring their sheep for many years.
“We have used Lambplan since its inception in 1990, and while we only tested a few sheep in the first couple of years, it wasn’t long before we recognised its value as a selection tool and started measuring the whole flock,” Perry said.
Perry said while figures were playing an increasingly bigger role in the stud’s selection criteria, structural soundness and conformation were still critical factors
