Jolma is one of Western Australia's most successful Poll Dorset studs.

They have managed to achieve what appears to be the perfect balance between objective measurement and subjective assessment, regularly ranking at the top of the Australasian performance index lists for carcase traits and at the same time, having won nation-wide acclaim in the show-ring.

Much of the stud's recent success can be attributed to the impact of Kurralea 211/98 5-Star, introduced to Jolma in 1999 - a full joining season "ahead of the pack".

His progeny have been star performers and currently top both the current and future sires list on the 2002 LAMBPLAN Carcase Plus Elite sires list.

Jolma Injector 148 has topped the current sire rankings, with a Carcase Plus index of 231.46. (see latest news in High Riding)

And Jolma has also blitzed the 2002 male progeny rankings, which analyses some 42,000 unproven rams across Australia and New Zealand. At May 2002, Jolma progeny were ranked 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th from that group of 42,000 Poll Dorset rams.

Sitting right at the top of the list is Jolma Redline 89-2000, with a Carcase Plus ranking of 222.26.

And in second position, is a son of Jolma Injector 148 (a grandson of Kurralea 211/98).

Meanwhile, the stud clock up a similar performance in 2001, when three Kurralea 5-Star sons were rated as the top 3 Poll Dorset rams in Australia (out of 8000 measured). (see latest news in High Riding)
